Dress Up

First of all, let me say congrats to our two favorite soon to be married couples Emilee Davis and Russell Mingledorff and Trina Sorensen and Elijah Hall. Both of our little sisters are officially engaged and both plan to wed in the spring.  We couldn't be happier for for them!

Just a few weeks ago Eliza and I went shopping with Emilee to look for a wedding dress.  Our first and last stop was at a bridal shop in Loganville.  Emilee and I sifted through a sea of white dress until she found a few she wanted to try on.  It was so much fun to share the excitement with her.  As usual I was also staying busy trying to keep Eliza in check. (Luckily those dresses are in bags!)  In the middle of the dress appointment I got emotional for a moment.  Not because of Emilee, but because of this little one...

Eliza suddenly diverted her attention to playing on the platform in front of the mirrors.  The thought came rushing into my head that 20+ years from now I will be watching my little one try on dresses and at that moment I was at a loss for words.  It was the first time I ever thought that she won't always be mine.  She will grow up...

Gosh, I am so lame.  I am crying just from looking at this picture.  Anyhow, Emilee came out of the dressing room looking beautiful as always, Eliza needed a diaper change and life moved on.  However, it was a monumental day for the last Davis sister because she found the dress for her!  I wish I could put up a picture of Emilee in her dress, but you'll just have to wait until March.

P.S. Eliza you can play dress up for as long as you want and when it comes time to try on really big white expensive dresses your Mom might shed a tear or two, but I'll be extremely happy too!
