While I am catching up on "journaling" our life together, I wanted to document the miracles that we have had in our lives this past summer. In the beginning of this summer Dylan was in the interviewing process and we were actively praying that during this recession that he would bless a recent graduate with a much needed job to provide for our family.
We prayed, fasted and did everything in our power to find something. While this process was beginning I had a conversation with a friend at Bunco, of all places, and was relating to her our situation. She and her family had been through this trial too. Her father was in search of a job for many many months and had just secured a job. I asked her how her mom dealt with it all. She said the following (I'm going to paraphrase a long conversation), my mom would probably tell you that your faith will be tried and you will tell the Lord that we have X amount of money saved and we can live for so long then he will wait until that last possible moment when you think that you can't make it any longer and then he will provide. Did that happen? YES! We were able to live off our rainy day fund and when our faith was pushed to the edge he then came to the rescue. There were so many little things along the way that worked together for our good. We were able to avoid signing a new lease by living in my brother's house that was for sale. Thanks Ryan! The church in North Augusta was so welcoming while we only stayed there a short while. Dylan was able to start a great job and stay with his old college roommate Shaun while we were in the process of finding a new place to live in metro Atlanta. Our good friends Krista and Evan showed us around Lilburn and help convince us that we needed to move here. What a great choice!
It was a long road, but how thankful I am for how things worked out. Dylan has been blessed to have a job that provides for our family and allows him to grow as an individual. I am so happy to have been blessed to stay at home and raise my daughter.
Dear Bunco friend's mom you were right.
